Editorial mission

Every guide should help a reader make a specific Korea travel or arrival decision. We prioritize clear next steps, limitations, fallback plans, and links that let the reader verify time-sensitive claims.

Source hierarchy

For rules and procedures, we start with Korean government agencies and public institutions. For transport, telecom, and commercial terms, we use the responsible operator or provider. Reputable secondary reporting can add context. Traveler communities are used to identify questions and recurring friction, not to override an authoritative source.

  • Primary: responsible government body, public institution, operator, or provider
  • Secondary: reputable reporting or specialist reference
  • Community: clearly identified anecdotal experience
  • Editorial judgment: a recommendation based on stated decision criteria

Research and verification

The SmartRoot Korea Editor researches, drafts, checks source links, publishes, and performs material updates. Dates, prices, schedules, eligibility rules, coverage, refund terms, and product features are checked against the source available on the displayed review date.

Where two credible sources conflict, the guide identifies the disagreement or defers to the body responsible for the decision.

Author and reviewer information

Articles are published under the SmartRoot Korea Editor public byline. The same operator currently performs the fact check, so the site does not imply that a separate expert reviewed a page.

A qualified professional reviewer will be named only when that person has actually reviewed the stated subject and scope.

First-hand testing and images

We use tested, visited, or personally verified only when direct observation occurred. Provider specifications, community reports, generated editorial images, and illustrative examples are labeled by context and are not presented as first-hand tests.

AI-assisted work

AI tools may assist with outlining, editing, comparison structure, translation checks, image production, or code. A human operator remains responsible for selecting sources, checking factual claims, disclosures, publication, and corrections. AI output is not treated as a source.

Commercial independence

Affiliate approval, commission rate, or advertiser availability does not determine whether a product is included or recommended. Comparisons state their criteria and relevant alternatives. Paid placement will be labeled and will not purchase an undisclosed positive conclusion.

Corrections, updates, and removal

A material error is corrected as soon as reasonably possible and logged when it could change a reader's decision. Pages are reviewed on a risk-based schedule and also when an official source or provider changes.

Content may be removed when it is obsolete, unsafe, legally problematic, duplicative, or impossible to verify. Removal is not offered merely because a factual article is unfavorable.
